Just to pass along what happened to my 58.

Coming home the other day "Mater" did not want to climb the small hill to the house. Kept stalling out.

Wasn't getting enough fuel to keep it running.

After digging around a bit I finally found that the pickup tube inside the tank was stopped up with rust and gunk. Even with a sock on the tube it was stopped up.

I took a small piece of cable from a worn out window regulator and used it to "rod" out the tube. Then blew it out with air. Got all kinds of junk out of the tube.

So if you wind up with a starving for fuel situation, and can't see anything wrong, take a look at the pickup tube.

I didn't see any problems on the outside of the tube, but the inside was a mess.

Just thought I might pass that along for anyone else that may wind up with their truck starving.
