Hi, does anybody knows how the funny cars are blowing steam out of their engine compartment like an angry bull.

And where you can buy it ?

All the best

They are bleeding off nitrous oxide. NOS is the most common brand of system.

Funny cars don't use NOS.They are alcohol or nitromethane. If you are refering to what is coming out of the headers.MNSmith is right. It is unburned fuel

If its a pro-mod or door car (any race car with working doors) then it is nitrous oxide. Its mainly a show for the crowds, but they are purging the lines of any air that may be trapped. Its expensive to just blow off like that, but when you have $100,000 engine in a $200,000 car, what the heck is a nitrous to you!

Yeah, but he asked about funny cars. And funny cars are either nitro or alchohol!

Since he thought it was steam, I doubt he knows the difference between a pro-mod (door-slammer) and a funny car.

46gmcpu I don't think you did it on purpose, but it would have been better to explain the difference instead of insulting him.
