While I have never used one on a 235, I did fabricate one to place on a 454 in a motorhome. There was a measurable difference in fuel economy (something like 6 percent). Not saying it would work in all cases, but it did on the motorhome.
I removed the original snorkel and cut a hole for a rectangular dryer vent hose to fit the air cleaner. I then cut a hole in the radiator support, and ran the dryer hose to the outside air. I then covered the hole with mesh to keep out the paper wasps and grasshoppers. More time-consuming than costly.

Most of the time, the term "cold air intake" is a buzzword for one of the ridiculous intake systems like the K&N, that's just a half-donkeyed low-restriction "filter" that lets in enough dirt to wear an engine out in the name of "better breathing".

If you are having issues with under hood heat, then it will help a lot, but your engine is working normal, and heat is controlled, then you may not see any gains. If you do go this route, be sure to insulate the air tube going to the carb, or it will just supply heated air. You will never know till you try it, so I say go for it and let use know what happens.
