It will be easier if driven up on ramps to give you more clearance.
You may have difficulty removing the pinion nut. Other than that it's a straight forward deal.

But mine has a piece of plywood bolted in the bed and when it is removed you can stand inside the bed with both feet on the driveway and work on everything. I have pulled the chunk from the rear that way. I do not have it jacked up. And setting pinion bearing preload. Gear contact pattern, and back lash, and carrier bearing preload. Its probably best to take it to some professional differential outfit and let them eat it if it is setup improperly. Done wrong they don't last long and sound horrible, and really chew things up nicely.
