I was looking at a 40's COE truck today.The seller said it was a 41 model,but my buddy that was with me said it was a 46 model. I found a tag located on the side of the firewall. It reads:
16,000 lbs. GVW
80H07
9432
Anyone have a clue as to what year model or any other info on this truck?It doesn't have a title.

The 8 means built in Atlanta, GA.
OH means 1946 109" wheelbase, 2 ton COE, Chevrolet.

The 07 and 9432 numbers are a bit odd to me. Maybe the 9432 means 8431st truck off the assembly line? Or that's the serial number.

That would be a good one to get, if it's in fixable condition. There weren't as many of those short wheelbase COE's,as there was the medium, & long wheelbase models. Where are you, in North Carolina?

07 = Month (July)

9432 = Unit number starting with 1001

Got any pictures of it. I'm in Burlington, N.C., & have owned close to thirty COE's.

At the moment I only have 2 photos.The truck is pretty rough but fixable.I've seen worse!

Doesn't look too bad on that picture. Is the body next to it, off of the truck. Looks like all of the stainless grille trim is missing. Any old wrecker bodies at that location.

It has been listed a few times without much action. The guy might take less than advertised.

Thanks Bill.I'm in the process of buying it.It will probably be another month before I get it home.The seller finally got it drug out the jungle last week ha,ha.So I'm going today and take a real good look at it and of course take more photos and write down some vin and engine numbers.
