does anyone know for sure if the fentons will work with a stock intake manifold?

Yes, they will.

although you will most likely have to massage the little clips to get everything to fit as the new fentons are chinese and the little lumps they hook on to aren't lined up very well, It will become very apparent when you go to install them, and just to let you know, that, no, they don't just "bolt on"

Do you think the Chinese made them wrong or do you think the original Fenton molds result in "ears" that have to be ground to fit level with the intake ears?

youve got to be kidding me? they are charging that much money for fentons and they are made in china? WTH!

Just my opinion Tim but I think the Chinese molds are off. It's been a very long time but I never heard anyone talk about the original Fentons being difficult to install or requiring the steel cup clips to be ground.

Finding gray iron foundrys to cast anything has become a challenge thanks to EPA regulators.

I'd bet that the Chinese foundrys are using molds (or originals for molds) sent to them from the US?

Sand molds would be very, very difficult to ship so I'd bet their not using original molds. Who knows?

I have a Fenton dual carburetor intake and the Fenton dual exhaust manifolds. No grinding was necessary to use these together. They are made to work together.

When I bought an Offenhauser dual carb intake and a Fenton dual exhaust manifold from Patrick's about 15 years ago, I had to grind the "ears" on the Fentons and grind a little aluminum off the Offenhauser. Patrick's provided an "instruction sheet" that only stated that Mr. Fenton and Mr. did not confer with each other, and a little grinding would be necessary to get these manifolds to work together.

I'll find out soon how much I'll have to grind my Fentons to get them to work with a GM original intake manifold (I'll be using a two-barrel Holley AA1 two-barrel carburetor with variable jets).

My guess is that those Chinese-made Fenton headers are made to specifications.

it was a bit more than grinding, I had to use a hacksaw and cut darn near half of one side off of a couple of them to fit. (with a stock intake) I also have a brand new fenton dual intake I just haven't installed yet. I'm curious to see how well they match up.
they wouldnt'send the sand they would send the patterns that are used to form the sand for the casting.

well if they can be made to fit Being a machinist by trade I can get them to fit, now my concern is that this is on a 1.5 ton that will be used for work, is the quality of the castings. Will they hold up to hi temps and stresses. Chinese metals are not known to be of the highest quality.

yeah I was surprised too, I got the brand new intake in the weird cheap cardboard common to the former third world industries with "made in china" written on it. I saw a fella on ebay with a whole pallet of headers all in the same boxes, That somehow seems treasonous (is that a word?) to me.

Agreed. classic chevy speed parts made in china. I think Patton would have shot somebody over that one.

Welcome to the 21st century. Nearly everything on the market in the US is made in China and has been for years. Do you guys live in a cave some where?

If it's any consolation, the headers are made in Taiwan, not communist China.

no I don't live in a cave, I am fully aware of how much is made in china. But some things should be a bit more sacred.
