For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 4 | My wife has always had an eye for old trucks and I am finally in place where I can afford the time and money to restore one. We selected a 1952 Advance Design 1/2 ton. Here are some pictures. These are some before shots and some of the early documentation photos as I just am starting. I am new to this hobby and will be needing a lot of help. I already learned so much from this site and all the threads that are so informative. I was at Peach Days with Jolly. What are your plans for the truck? It looks like it is pretty good shape. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 4 | I missed out on Peach Days. My sister and her family arrived the night before for the Utah-Utah State game and stayed all day. I was disappointed that I was not able to come.
I have pretty well decided to keep it is as close to stock as I can. I think I will regear the rear end for just a little more speed on the top end. I have thought about a slightly more modern 235 engine, but otherwise, I would like to just take it down the frame and freshen it up.
So far I am slowly removing the body. I was sad to see that someone in the past had covered some pretty severe rust in the floor and firewall with sheet metal. Now the front right corner of the bottom of the cowl is rusted out, too. It is a three window cab and so I am thinking of replacing the cab altogether with a five window if I can find one. I am having a good time so far. Thanks for asking. Nordell | | |
