I also have a breather hose running from the top of the valve cover to the top of the air cleaner. There is a breather cap on the valve cover too. Is the breather cap on the valve cover creating a needless vacuum leak? I haven't noticed a difference in idle or performance. Just wondering if I should use a standard valve cover cap or does it matter if I'm venting in more air?

| | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,453 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,453 | I'd ditch the vented cap, the fresh air via the air fiter is a sealed PCV system, as in any excess vapors that the PCV can't handle will be drawn into the carb (think high engine load / low manifold vacuum). A vent cap makes it an unsealed system, excess crankcase blow by out the vent cap. Also fresh air to crankcase via the engine air filter should be much cleaner that the mesh of the breather cap can offer.
