Any recommendations on the installation of a 235 valve cover to help prevent leaks? I have a clean newly painted valve cover and engine. Have made sure the surface of the valve cover is straight and not bent or warped. Have a new gasket. Should I use a sealer between the valve cover and gasket and no sealer between the block and gasket? or vice versa? What type of sealer? ...I did the two gasket trick and it worked great. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 202 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 202 | What I like to do is glue the gasket to the valve cover because it is easier to clean of the old gasket on the work bench than clean it off the engine and not have small bits of gasket go into the engine.
Keep the 216's running. 1949 1/2 ton model #1314 (US 3104) Brian
