Help !!!! is there a trick to removing/installing the floor board on a 1941 4 speed. I tried every gear and hand brake settings and there seems to be no way to side that thing off or on...

It's been a while, but if I remember right you have to turn that sliding plate on the e-brake handle kind of sideways while the floorboard is part way up and slip the sliding plate through the floorboard, then the floorboard will come up and over. I don't remember if the part of the floorboard that the pedals go through has to be removed first, but i know that the two pieces have to be apart. Hope this helps.

Have you removed the shift lever? Very easy--just push down the dome shaped retainer at the base of the shifter, turn 1/4 turn left, and pull out lever. Easier to stab back in if trans is in neutral.

Seems that I got mine out several times just had to move the e brake so the handle was right along side the shift lever. Also had to work it past the pedels by depressing them and sorta poping the floor past them.
