It's a direct-drive trans, no overdrive, but it's about as reliable as a sledgehammer. There are adapter plates available to fit the back of the 235 block that will let the 350 bolt up to it. Of course, the early 700R4 without the computer control will fit the same adapter if you need an OD gear.
If you want an OD manual shift, the S-10 trans is a pretty good choice. Most of them need a little modification to the input shaft to work properly, or a spacer plate between the trans and the bellhousing is another way to handle the slight length difference of the input shaft.

If you put in a modern auto trans you will have to remove the crossmember under the bell houseing. The S-10 5 speed is a good way to go but a lot depends on your rear end ratio.

And have been breaking the flex-plate.My question is the s-10 5 speed, I know there is a ford pattern behind the four cyl and GM 6cy are GM pattern, so what I want is a trans out of a V6 with removable bellhousing ?

The best one to use is from the mid 80,s. It was used on both 4 & 6 engines. It has the mechanical speedo drive. Most 88 & all 89 up have an electronic speedo drive & ceate a problem for the speedo. There is a tag on one of the bolts for the rear houseing. It has an ID # on it. 1352-xxx. Sometimes this # is on top of the trans on a sticker. 1352-145 is the best one. If you get this # you can ID the trans after bringing up a chart on the internet. It gives the ratio of the trans. Again the desireable ratio will depend on your rear end ratio.
