I tried to forward it to you but it won't go through. You probably will or already have gotten the same thing.
Sweet, you sure you are a XL? I can see Roache and Milliman being XL with their big......um.....broad.......shoulder, yea SHOULDERS.
I think you need to come by my work and try on my Three Season jackets in a large. While you are here sample one of Columbia's fine bacon cheese burgers!

What about the logo? Can the ODSS logo be changed out to the '47-'53 model truck? I guess that would be like stepping on a ground bee's nest now wouldn't it?

First name - chest - left/right
ODSS letters - chest - left/right
ODSS letters or an image of the front of a 47-53 Chev truck - on back of jacket
Will any of these be optional?
| | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 Bond Villain | Bond Villain Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 | Everything is negotiable, Tim To Cosmo's point, yes indeed! In fact, I was thinking about switching out the '54 truck entirely to an Emu ... Just kidding ... Sortta ... But seriously, folks ... As Roache is the only one with a '54 front end on that Frankenstein beast of his (with all respect -- Dempsey has certainly done his fair share of hard work on THIS farm, that's for sure!), I have been thinking for a while that switching out that truck for something a little more representative of the ODSS membership would be in order. Say a '49 half ton??? At any rate, the issue is certainly open for discussion and I have no dog in the fight. Put a '62 half ton on it if you want to get totally crazy about it ... The jackets aren't even here yet so we have a little time to figure it out. So as I see it, the recommendation is the name on one side, the small ODSS logo on the other and a big ODSS logo on the back. Is everyone hip to that jive? Yo, J-Man

Thanks John. I have a running 1948 Chevrolet 3100 pick-up and am just starting on a 1952 Chevrolet Suburban so I agree with a logo with a 1947-1953 body style. Looking forward to meeting everyone soon. Thanks John. LOWES on Constant Friendship Blvd., off Rt. 22 Bel Air exit at I-95 has Friday Night cruise ins. I haven't taken my pick-up mostly cause I work a part-time gig that starts at 1 A.M. till 9 A.M. or later each Saturday morning delivering Pepperidge Farm breads to grocery stores. It's my funds to pay for restoration efforts. I made my first 2 hr 85 mile roundtrip to the DE boarder between 4AM-6AM with my pick-up today as I am proving it out. Other than an occassional flickering out of headlights (maybe too cheap of a replacement headlight switch possibly) everything went smooth with engine temperature between 180-200. I like to maybe work-up to where I might make Saturday afternoon/night at Winchester (has to be no rain and temperature below 80 where I would chance it) it is 125 miles. We shall see. Thanks for all you and Peggy, et. al., do for this excellent website. Thanks John. I did not know that 54-frontal had been used - that explains Cosmo's request/query.
Soapbox Statement (to be ignored without explanation/justification): ODSS includes and describes everyone - a specific year separates us.
I look forward to explaining what ODSS (and the word stovebolt) mean.

That's why I'm taking the truck completely out of the logo and replacing it with the ODSS official mascot -- the Emu. Nick -- we'll see about BelAir. My '49 doesn't go anywhere near I-95 unless it's on a trailer And you have to make it out to Winchester. It is the flagship event for the ODSS. Everyone who is anyone is there. JM

So I pretty much have the new design finalized, and taking everyone's concerns into account, I decided that trying to please everyone was too hard. I've decided that [censored] ALL of you off is much easier (and more enjoyable). So let's just say the the new design incorporates an Emu and an F-350 ... J. Crosby

- vote by all interested members/buyers - ODSS "leader" chooses - Grand Poo-Bah chooses - the person who makes the order chooses - the person making the greatest bribe (ie, contribution) to the person making the order chooses
Of course, it was previously stated that people could choose what they like, but, just supposing that this group might want to set an example to the nation that compromise decisions can be made by majority vote, . . .
(sorry about getting political)

Regarding attending meetings, I'll try. And, I'd be please to bring a 5-gal keg of home made beer (as long as a tradition of meetings is to toast the "leaders" before the start of business/voting - I have observed that an appropriate lack of control/respect/influence results from no more than two 12-ounce toasts).

You'll wear yourself out trying to figure it out. The short version is that we make up our bylaws on the fly each time we meet:
Dennis: I told you, we're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week... King Arthur: Yes... Dennis: ...but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting... King Arthur: Yes I see... Dennis: ...by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs... King Arthur: Be quiet! Dennis: ...but by a two thirds majority in the case of... King Arthur: Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!

As far as the ODSS structure every member has a title. This title is usually given to you at an event usually after a few cans of courage are consumed. All that really matters is that we have a blast when we are all together.
Tim, would it be possible to make it to the Tri-State show? As John mentioned it is the last event of the year and usually one of the crowned jewels. It is the founding grounds of the ODSS and always a blast.
