Tonners:

After some serious contemplation (read as six-pack), decided to convert my 1950 3800 to a stakebed. Anyone have any good pix of the bed frame and how the fence posts are attached? I'm curious about how they were done originally, see if I can replicate the original design.

Of course, I'll keep the original bed sides and fenders, just in case I come to my senses and decide to go back to the box. Any advice?

Bruce, it may help you some to go to the Gallery and take a look around at the size trucks your thinking about....and I'm sure others will chip in.

There is some very good detail on 46 construction here. I have the Advance-Design version of this I can try and scan if you are interested.

Both of those are really neat, espescially the Unit Designed Chevrolet Truck Bodies book. Brad - if you have one of those for the AD trucks I'd sure like to see it, the detail is great and if its anything like the scanned book it'll have enough to get me started.
