The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Fuel door???

Howdy,

I have decided to replace the outside filler cap with a fuel door on my '69 panel. I have some rust repair to do in that area anyway so why not? what I want is something that uses a pull cable or solenoid from inside. I do NOT want one of the billet things, but rather one from a car or truck that I can cut out in a salvage yard. I know what I need to do to install it safely. What I'm looking for is suggestions for donors and round or square. Remember, my truck is a 1969 C-20 Panel Truck not lowered. Give me some ideas, guys!

Honda civic has an inside release setup

Depending on where you are going to put the door I would make a template to take with you so you can get as close of a match to the contour as possiable. This saves on the body work down the line. 60-66 Fleetside Chevys a Mitiubtchi PU. door works very well.
I might not of spelled it right for sure but hope you can decifer the Japanese name.

I've used one off a Lincoln Mark VII before, it's round and cable operated (no finger grab recess...)
