I get a bit of bounce/ wonder when driving though in the drive when I push down on any corner of the truck it seems to only bounce a few times, but then again the suspension seems to kind of do a little 'hula dance' and not move just up and down.

Truck has been like this since I got it little over 10 years ago, and the front axle was gone through when I put disc brakes on a few years back. The test I mentioned above needs to be done with the truck on the ground.

I get a lot more side to side/ front to back movement then true up and down movement when I am pushing on a corner when all four wheels are on the ground. Is the chassis on your truck stock? I know there was a stabilizer bar on the rear that may have some worn bushings. Also what condition are your kingpins?
The shackles may be worn and need replaced, but I don't think they could be causing the issues you describe.

The best way to test them is to take one end loose & pull& push it through the travel.If it offers no resistance its quite obvious its bad. Sometimes they are real stiff & make the ride rough.
