How do I get the larger diameter hose? | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 401 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 401 | You could always try taking the hose to a shop that makes hoses and they should be able to replicate it. I have 1 shop here in town that does it and one north of me on my way to work. That's probably what I'll end up doing. | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 258 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 258 | good suggestion, I was going to try these guys http://brake-hose.com/ | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 | Hy Jay_Brown, I'm sorry if the hose p/n I quoted did not match the hose that was on your truck, it has been 66 years since a 1946 truck was built, and myself and others can only quote the numbers that the parts books tell us were the original equipment on the truck in question. I don't think any of us can tell how many times a given truck is worked on, and possibly modified from it's original design. I have used this same hose on a few of my trucks and others that I have worked on for other people, with no fitment issues. If you would like to tell us the length of the hose in question, and what the threads are that are on the line you're trying to replace, I will do my best to find a p/n which matches your specifications. | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 258 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 258 | length is perfect fittings on both ends are perfect just the diameter of the orifice in the fittings is smaller than the original. the hose is smaller in diameter too. so it would bolt up no problem but not as much fluid will flow | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 127 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 127 | just take your old hose to napa they can match it up to a similar one. Thats how i got mine, its the same hose but 1/2" longer. | | |
