Happy moments are rare

Changed the Thermostat and Start motor drive today.
Added coolant bit by bit. Managed to remove all air. It stayed low in temp !!

The I took the starter apart. Removed the starter drive. Replaced with a new one.
And I am surprised !! It engages every time now. No more rattling and nasty noice.
Also cleaned all cable connections and ensure good contact everywhere.

Today it's fun to own the old stubborn Truck.

Two things fixed, all was 100%, nothing else that broke either.

Now I will give myself a moment outside in the sun with a cool beer as reward.

Congratulations on your successes.

I feel your pain and your jubilation. My pickup project and restored Suburban have no personal names, just the pickup and the suburban. However, my 54/55 2-ton COE project has a personal name:

Roseanne Roseannadana
it's always something . . . nevermind

Cold beer rewards are always appropriate.

Seems like on a big truck that any problem is always a big problem (relatively speaking).

I envy your moment in the sun, Seems that the mere fact that i own a big truck causes heartache and contention in my household.

I am lucky I guess. It was my wife who wanted me to by the old Truck in the first place. The other day she asked me if we shouldn't buy ourselves an old Tractor.

A red Volvo BM Victor with a 4 stroke 2 cylinder diesel will be our next purchase smile

I might mention she is educated car mechanic. It's good to choose wife carefully smile

'IT'S GOOD TO CHOOSE A WIFE CAREFULLY"

Amen! Whether they are a mechanic or don't know a screwdriver from a rabbit hutch.

I agree with all the above...

I have no wife to deal with, but I understand the right one is a blessing indeed.

Congratulations on a job well done...well done indeed.
