What is best way to get modern steering and brakes and ability to change wheels and tires? I was thinking 3/4 ton front end? Could it be welded up as one unit? With a fair amount of welding skill and a pretty good understanding of steering geometry, that's not an impossible job, but it's not a drop-in fit by any means.

I'd like to have disc brakes and power steering as well as newer wheels and tires.

I put a 78 3/4 front end under my 48 two ton.It was all bolt in.
