But before I open my wallet, I gotta ask - Will I still be able to use the factory steel wheels after I convert to disc brakes? Is there enough room for the caliper?

Some use a 12" rotor which will not clear the inside of a stock wheel. The 11" rotor kit should clear but I would check with the supplier. If they can't tell you they don't know anything about their product and I would stay away from them.

Not sure about the years.....just a thought. It seems the main issue is backspacing. I have some nice mag rims with about 4" of backspacing and I believe they should be fine with disc brakes. However, I also like the steelies with wide whitewalls look too and am undecided as to which one to use. Not sure about the years.....just a thought. The basic steel wheel was used from '71 - '87 on many K1 pick -up & thru '91 on K1 series blazer / jimmy & suburban. Remember, even if a rig has alloy wheels it would have have a steel spare!
