I'm in the process of replacing the driveshaft middle u-joint and carrier bearing on my 1959 38. I removed the rear driveshaft and unbolted the center bearing carrier from the cross member. My question is: how do I remove the carrier bearing from the front driveshaft? Gear puller? Press? I wish to benefit from someone else's experience instead of going about this in the most difficult manner possible (my usual MO).

I had mine done as I took the piece to a shop. I believe they used a press.

I finally surrendered and did the same as Truckernix. I took it to a shop nearby. Fifteen minutes, ten bucks and done.
