Years back I picked up a differential in great condition out of a 59 suburban that was used as a small school bus. I will install it in the 57, which I am restoring to 'near' original.
Its been opened up, checked out, some bearings replaced, new passenger side axle and then cleaned up & painted.
I noticed recently, that the (factory installed) brake 'tee' bracket is on the drivers side (Left) on the diff housing, as opposed to all others I've seen, which are on the passengers side (Right) side. Am now wondering if burb's are set up that way or, if somehow I ended up with an 'odd ogg'? Any help would be appreciated.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the majority I've seen were on the driver side, but there was variation, possibly depending on the plant the truck was assembled or the year, and with the T on the other side, some of the brake line routing was different as well ... no problem, just adapt to the difference or change it to suit the rest

I am often slow on the uptake, but it appears to me that 55.2 thru 57 brake line from mc to rear end were on the passengers side of frame, whereas (at least some) 58 and 59 brake line to rear end were on the drivers side.
Anyone have any more info on that to share?
