I continue work, ever so slowly, on my 57 3100. Years back I picked up a differential in great condition out of a 59 suburban that was used as a small school bus. I will install it in the 57, which I am restoring to 'near' original.
Its been opened up, checked out, some bearings replaced, new passenger side axle and then cleaned up & painted.
I noticed recently, that the (factory installed) brake 'tee' bracket is on the drivers side (Left) on the diff housing, as opposed to all others I've seen, which are on the passengers side (Right) side. Am now wondering if burb's are set up that way or, if somehow I ended up with an 'odd ogg'? Any help would be appreciated.
