Does anyone know what bracket (generator) will fit on a 1955 235? I'm running a 5/8" belt and the generator bracket on the 1956 engine bolted to the side of the block whereas the 1955 bolts to the top of the oil pan rail. I have two different brackets neither seems to work. I really don't want to fab. anything if there is a part out there that will work. If you think of anything please let me know. Thanks in advance. I have a bracket that should work if you want it. It was a extra one i had left over from my 55 2nd series restoration. it is just sittin on a shelf collecting dust. And i doubt i will ever need it. I'm here in Bama so shippin shouldn't be to much.

Hello and thank you. I have two brackets. They are both made the same except one is longer than the other. They look like a piece of channel iron but much smaller. If you will email me at [email protected] I can make arrangements to get it to me. Anyway you want to do it is OK with me. Heck, I will bet the shipping on it will be less than the two "Decals" I WAS going to order. Shipping on those decals was $14.00. Crazy. Another man told me lived a couple of blocks from Classic Parts and would go get them and put them in a envelope and send them to me for the price of a stamp. This is what Stovebolt is all about. Friends helping friends. How much better can it get? I will probably put the engine in the truck tomorrow. The front cap is off so I won't be worried about leaning over the fenders trying to fix a bracket. If you want to sell it to me just email me with the price. That's funny I don't care what anybody says. I was outside tuesday putting my transmission back in and I was trying to figure out why it seemed a little heavier to me. Now I know, the last time I did that was in the late 70s and now I'm 63. Time flys when you're having fun huh Steven. Larry

getting under the truck is the easy part. Getting back up from underneath it is the hard part. i was thinking about getting one of those Life alert bracelets.

You know guys, I've noticed the same thing...and I think I've figured it out. There is more GRAVITY than there used to be! Yep, that's gotta be it, and my wife said it affects the bathroom scale, too!!!

On both walls of my garage I have installed 1x4 wood planks about 18" off the floor. Makes getting up off the floor a lot easier. Also used to have a few layers of carpet on the floor and I found myself having these 'power naps' while under the truck.

Just a comment. This situation is typical for Stovebolters; one helping another. Ain't it GREAT! To you old guys; I have more years than you mention, but I don't have any problems until I go to the Doctor and HE tells me that I have them!

You know, I think you're right. I went the other day and they found everything "too" high. Blood sugar and anything else. I think they get a charge out of seeing you worry. Take good care, Steven
