I had them mix it semi gloss in acrylic enamel with hardener. Not having seen a very good pic of the original color can someone tell me if this is close or not. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | A little hard to tell with the lighting. If you search the forums there was a lengthy discussion on this with pictures that may help. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 55 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 55 | I think it looks great! As far as original goes does it really matter as long as you are happy the way it looks. I've also read all those long posts about original interior paint colors, these truck were built in different cities all over this country, what kind of variants do you think there were in paint shade or color from different production runs/paint suppliers? What you have there on your truck is as original as it gets.

Many years back, a buddy and I restored a 57 Belair. He wanted it factory Tropical Turquois. Thing is we saw so many so called original tropical turquois cars and non of the colors were the same. seems there were about a dozen assembly plants and they all painted their cars with the same paint codes but no doubt the color shades were definitely different. We ended finding a TT color that he liked and that is what it got painted with. 1953 Chevrolet 3100261 cu inch, sm420, 3.55 rear, torque tube still, omaha orange, still 6 volt, RPO green glass, side carrier spare, all done In the DITY GalleryVideo of the 261 running1964 GMC 1000305 Big Block V6, sm420, the next cab off restoration
