ok, after trying to find a close match to the original interior paint locally and not having much luck i went with graphite grey metallic from tcp global. I had them mix it semi gloss in acrylic enamel with hardener. Not having seen a very good pic of the original color can someone tell me if this is close or not.

A little hard to tell with the lighting. If you search the forums there was a lengthy discussion on this with pictures that may help.

I think it looks great! As far as original goes does it really matter as long as you are happy the way it looks. I've also read all those long posts about original interior paint colors, these truck were built in different cities all over this country, what kind of variants do you think there were in paint shade or color from different production runs/paint suppliers? What you have there on your truck is as original as it gets.

Were you happy with the TCP paint? They are about half the price of my local guy and I am gonna need a gallon or more to paint the interior of Big Betty

no, it's not life or death to be 100% original for me. I do try to stay close. As far as the paint goes i thought it was just fine. sprayed well and laid well. 8-1 mix with the hardner. 2qts paint, half pint hardner and shipping, good service, $99.00 I talked to he local dupont guy and it was about 130.00 for 1 quart of his. So, I'm satisfied

Many years back, a buddy and I restored a 57 Belair. He wanted it factory Tropical Turquois. Thing is we saw so many so called original tropical turquois cars and non of the colors were the same. seems there were about a dozen assembly plants and they all painted their cars with the same paint codes but no doubt the color shades were definitely different. We ended finding a TT color that he liked and that is what it got painted with.
