Hey everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself!

Since about 4 years back that I saw my first I wanted a classic pickup! And since then I was dreaming about owning and restoring a classic pickup.

After a bit of research into classic pickups, I found that I really liked the Chevy pickup.

And about a week back I found one, a 57 Chevy 3600 pickup, that I will be collecting next week.

Some photos for the photo lovers! I got them from the current owner.

Welcome Domenique, nice find. Are those Canadian built Chevies? I think most righthand drive vehicles for export were assembled here rather than from the US.

Hope you can find any parts you may need. Don't be shy about asking questions if you run stuck, we are here to help.

Thanx 1953 panel.

I have no idea from where the pickup is originally.

When I went to go look at the pickup I saw that all the trim was still on and for interest sake I pulled out the oil stick and saw there was still oil.

I have no clue when it comes to cars, so not sure if it will run or anything!

Good that is still oil in there, but you should change it regardless. Hope it runs without too much trouble.

The VIN plate should tell you where it was made.

I want to know, the trim on the front sides of the pickup, which way around must they be? I tried to find out on Google, but to now avail.

Some say one way and others say the other way! Now who to believe?

Maybe someone can help me on this?

Domenique, try posting this in the body shop or in general truck forum. A lot more people visit there and you'll be sure to get a response. Some of the experts will be sure to give the correct answers.

your fender emblems are correctly placed, the painted logo portion to the rear on both sides .... take a look in the gallery here at the '57's

Hi Domenique, sorry i'm late but welcome to the Stovebolt.
It's always good to see another 'International' 'bolter joining the ranks.
Seeing your new truck is right hand drive puts you in a pretty exclusive club.
These are particularly rare, even here in the UK.
Most of the Chevys here are personal LHD imports from the USA.
Good luck.
Jock.

Welcome indeed, Domenique!

We'd be glad to post the whole story on you and your truck adventures in our Gallery. Email Peggy or I at [email protected] and we can get started on that.

You should also feel free to post updates on your progress in the General Truck forum. I'm sure everyone will be very interested to see a right hand drive restoration in progress -- especially one from from Namibia!

Good to have you with us!

Keep us posted!

Regards,
John
