It looks like there's a linkage/arm connecting the axle tube to a part forward if the axle, inside the frame rail. What is this? I don't think my truck has it.... Hope I'm not missing something! AFAIK the lighter trucks i.e. 1/2 ton used a friction (knee action) style shock,and tube style later on in the series.
My knowledge of the bigger trucks is a little limited.
It might be an idea to move this one over to the Big Bolt forum,it'll reach more of the guys 'in the know'....

I have seen a bunch on 2 1/2 ton army trucks though. I always thought it would be fun to get a pair of those and add them to the big bolts.
