I didn't realize they are that expensive. That's a tiny unit for a lot of money.

Good brands include Crest, L&R, and Branson, and they will have a stainless steel tank and cover. What is important is cavitation. They work very well for removing grease and dirt. The first one I had experience with, or even seen an ultrasonic washer was a plant I worked at in early 70's. I must admit, it would clean your fingernails really good!!! | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 334 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 334 | LOL! They will clean fingernails.

We cleaned test panels in an ultrasonic cleaner after drilling them and before reading them. It was MUCH larger than the one Don is looking at so, at the price listed, it was probably a multi thousand dollar cleaner.

Had this big warning sign on it to keep you're hands out of it. Something about attacking the skeletal parts. Yikes! I'm sure what Speedway would sell would be tamer.

All that was inside was a rubber mounted electromagnet that caused the bowl with the cleaning solution in it to vibrate.
I think you can find one similar for less at Harbor Fright Tools if you have one nearby. I recently found they have a few new brands of cleaners out in various sizes, and the prices a re a bit more reasonable. I have a 2-gallon cleaner I got years ago, labratory grade equipment. used it to clean out the carbs on my baja buggy and a freinds desert racer, VERY nice tools to have if you need to clean parts like that often. 1956 GMC 370 dump " 'Tater "1970 VW Volksrod "the Black Bomber" 2007 Chevy Avalanche 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, 2005 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans.
