The wife had a smaller one for jewlery once and when it stopped working I took it apart. All that was inside was a rubber mounted electromagnet that caused the bowl with the cleaning solution in it to vibrate.
I think you can find one similar for less at Harbor Fright Tools if you have one nearby. Made in China of course.
