Just got home from the Reunion.

FANTASTIC!!!

Great Weather
Great company
Met some great people
Saw some great trucks
Heard some grat stories
All in all it was a great day!

Same here. Thank you Alvin and Victororia for putting on such a great event. It was great to meet you both and the other Boloters in the area. It's on the calender for next year. Truely a great time.

It was such an enjoyable time! Alvin, you and James are "Masters of the grill"!! Excellent hamburgers and hot-dogs! And all the food that people brought was total "yum-yum"!

Victoria, you were stunning in that very fashionable necklace! Hope you heal well and soon!

The "Stovebolts" were great along with all the stories about them from the other Stovebolters. A "Gabfest Extraordinaire"!!

"Lucille" made it back home with no issues and that is a "Good" thing!

We'll be heading to our cabin in the mountains in a couple of weeks for the summer. Returning back home in the fall.

Once again, thank you both for a wonderful event!

Ditto to all the above! Alvin and Victoria are gracious hosts, enjoyed meeting everyone.

Thanks to Vicki and Alvin for inviting us to their home. And thanks to all of you who brought your trucks! We had quite a variety of Chevys yesterday. I know I learned some things and came away inspired to get busy with mine.

I was really pleased to meet my Raleigh neighbors, Les and Kurt. Seems ashamed to have to wait a year for our group to get together again.

On the "once a year thing" ... even if just a handful want to meet for whatever reason, now you know who's nearby. That was the hope with setting up this Side Lot forum. We'll get a better breakdown with the sections as we can. But for now, we at least have something up here.

For the sake of just putting something on the table, I would suggest a get together one Saturday in October in Spencer, NC at the Spencer Yards which is the site of the NC Transportation Museum. They have lots of trains, a restored turntable and shops, vintage cars and trucks, and the aviation museum is near by.

Of course, some of our folks might prefer a location further south. That would be fine, too. Just checking to see if there is any interest

Thanks for the comments guys. We enjoyed it very much. Believe it or not I've had a sinus infection since Sunday morning and my computer is still in the shop.

A "write up" is coming....and boy, did I have a few surprised that I was not expecting.

What is the best way to get a head count of Bolters who would likely come out to Spencer for a Saturday in October? If we have interest, I would be very happy to drive over to Spencer and scope out a plan for the day and/or for a Saturday and Sunday event. For those who might like to spend the night, we could include a visit to the NC Zoo in nearby Asheboro. The entire area is rural, and uncongested. We just need some indication of interest among the Southern Bolters.

It was nice meeting you for the brief moment we had. For you to happen to be in SC from MI for the Southern Bolters Reunion was very unique. Job related as you explained.

Anyway, myself and all the bolters out there are looking forward to your video you filmed. It was a moment in time and was enjoyed by all those who were there.

Spencer is one of our favorite places for a day trip. We would certainly come, but not sure the truck is that roadworthy yet!.

Yo there, Wolffman, I have some from Kurt, Floyd and Sarah's and mine. they are going on a DVD that I will send to Peggy for her archives. They are also available to whoever wants them. Also I have the previous 4 years on DVD as well and the 2 Music CDs. This is AS TIME PERMITS! Now about cost, I don't want to make a living on this but Dual Layer DVD aren't free, to me anyway, so Stovebolt home gets a set and the big Chipmunk gets one and everyone else pays the piper . CD = $.50, DVD = $1.00, and DL DVD = $2.00 plus postage, just to cover costs. Let me know.

Spencer is a favorite of mine, too, but they may charge for a "private meeting an a Public Museum. There are lots of city parks in lots of towns that let you reserve a shade building for our kind of get together that may be worth looking into. There's also a little town over by the Reid Mine that has a "Cruise-in" once a month that maybe we could tag onto. There are lots of options. maybe we can find a good one!

Man-O-Man, you did a great job putting that video together! The "music", the chronological order of each Stovebolter's truck with identifying their owner, and the shot of the "Stovebolt Toss" by Alvin! Electrical tape!! We could all use some of that to keep our Stovebolts running! What a great prize!!

The time you took to identify all of us in the final "Southern Stovebolters" group shot is well done! Thank you!

It was nice meeting you Mark and I'm happy that Alvin got the steering wheel that he was looking forward to from you.
In closure, it was a fun and memorable day by all who came and participated in the 5th Southern Stovebolters Reunion! May we have many more!

It was a blessing that you came all the way from MI to be at our event, young as it is. Hopefully it will grow over the years as also other Stovebolt groups grow in other areas of our great nation. We can't forget our past!
