Ok Here is the question, Does it matter what the backside of the weld looks like? I'm starting the process of putting back the inner part of the kick and the kick panels on my 52 Also will be hitting the floor and the toe kick when I'm done with the kick panels.

It depends. You should always have full penetration on butt welds or they may crack later. If the repair is in a place where you want to flatten welding distortion, you'll need to grind both sides before using a hammer and dolly. Otherwise, it's up to your personal preference.

I was taught that the better the backside is the better the weld is.
