Under the anvil lift block in the rear is a wedge that corrects the drive ling angle. Below is a link to a photo and measurements. The arrow points to the front of the vehicle. Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | It'd be better to check your driveline angles and use shims as necessary for the individual truck instead of trusting how the geometry worked out on someone else's truck. Here's a great manual on installing driveshafts and getting the correct angles from Spicer, the last word in drivelines. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/driveline/setup/index.htmlGrigg | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 | Just so you know that wedge piece is from the factory on 58-59 Chevy NAPCO trucks. Could be the same for all NAPCO's, but am only noting the year of mine.
That said, Griggs post should help dial the drive line in even more. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | Yep, back when the trucks were new they might have all had the same shim. Now 50 or 60 years later with sagging springs and perhaps some modifications you'd be smart to double check what the angles are and adjust if necessary, that's what really counts.
