For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 | i have been getting cheep in my older years. so i recently have been buying some of my supplies on ebay. i have been buying 4.5" grinding supplies on their for i think cheap prices. flap wheels i get 10 for $20.00 and cutoff wheels i get 20 for $18 all with free shipping. also last night when i was out working in the garage late i ran out of sawsall and airsaw blades which i needed to continue with my project. i figured out that i can cut a cheap hacksaw blade to the right length and use it in my airsaw. it actually lasted longer than any airsaw blade i ever bought and was way cheaper. plus i got three blades out of the one hacksaw blade. so i quess i will never buy another airsaw blade but will stock up on hacksaw blades from now on. next time i am in the garage i am going to try it in my sawsall also. anyway i thought i would pass my findings to you guys. i dont know if anybody else does this stuff but i am getting sick of having to run up to the local hardware supply to pay way to much for some of these things. i will keep looking for cheaper supplies in the mean time and i will pass along my findings to you guys and hope you'll do the same with yours. thanks MO

I forgot the price but it seemed pretty good and grinding/cut off wheels is not something that last long anyway. Just a thought.
...I agree with the overpriced junk. Just bought a new tire for my wheelbarrow from Northern Tool and the NEW tire had a pin hole in....and yes, in big letters on the sidewall "Made in China"
..and I hate the term "recycle". If we want to go green then why "recycle it" when "repair it" is much much better and greener. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 229 | i stay away from harbor freight as much as possible unless its a weird hand tool i wont use very often. bought their airsaw blades and they lasted about a second shorter than it took to put the blade in the saw. my cheap flap wheels are lasting longer than the dewalts ive paid 8 bucks for. same with the cutting wheels. also if i order the wheels on a sunday i normally have them by thursday. i also forgot about one of my other ways of saving some expense on shop supplies. i buy my carb and brake cleaner at the dollar store. same brands as the flaps and local hardware stores but lots cheaper. now if i could only find cheap name brand oil and blue rag on the roll for less i would be in the money.
