In original stock condition, would the battery and master cylinder access panels have been visible, or would you have had to remove the floor mat to get to them?

If they were under the floor mat, how does the floor mat attach to the floor so that it's stable, yet easy enough to remove?

Hi ArmyMike - I'm not sure trucks came with floor mats in our truck years (37/38). I used a roll of floor mat material from Jim Carter Trucks and made one to fit my 38. I did cover the access panels, to keep a clean look. The mat does not have to be "fastened down", that will allow you to flip the mat back and get to access panels.

X2..... I did as tcox. I used a fiberglass floor board but one tidbit on the battery. I had to make my battery box and in so doing the battery is real close to the floorboard. So, I made sure I used side post battery......just in case you need to know.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
