Now 50 years later I had the opportunity to buy a replacement. What museum is she sitting in? Just curious. One of the auto dealers here in Greer, SC has a classic car/truck museum with a whole bunch of neat rides from the past. It's a great way to preserve an American classic from the past.

As you've found out the cabs are a tad tight for the slightly larger gent!
There are options available,which involves moving the gas tank to allow the seat to be moved further back.
There are also power steering systems available.

Many of us have also noticed how the steering wheel seems closer to the seat than it used to be ...
