2 5727 Model 9BL41
4990
I would also like to post some pics of what I think were Army ad on parts. Looks like a map holder on the wiper panel and a rear view mirror and bracket. I'll do that later.

The only info I have found here leads me to believe thatthe plate is from a 1937???

Are you able to post a photo of that "id plate"?
Master Deluxe was the name a 1941 car model (Stylemaster and Fleetmaster in 1942).
Load-Master was the name of the 235 engine, which was first available in 1941.

I agree with red58 on the 9BL
9 = Norwood plant
BL = 1942 code for a 3/4 ton with standard 216 engine
However, the 41 is not what is shown in the spec manual - those two digits are supposed to be for the month?
Maybe a military truck had some other code placed there?

As a matter of fact it was sold to me as a 42 not a 41. That was my mistake. It has a 235 in it now with a different number, but the title list the vin as H540016129
s\So it is in fact a 3/4 ton?
Is there another location for vin numbers on these trucks? Or is it as I have learned the number on the stamp pad?

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | there is no other place than the ID tag for a number, and the engine number was never the same as the vehicle ID number - it is in fact a '42 3/4T truck, with a title showing the engine number [of a 54 235] as was common back then - the previous owner who changed the engine no doubt had the vin changed on the title to reflect that change
