The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Tons 'o Fun 9' bed

I have been trying to find a 9' bed for my 54 3800 but no luck. I have the 54 rear fenders. I found a 66 or 67 chevy 1 ton with a 9' bed that is going to be parted out . The side panels look something like the 54 ,can anyone tell me if the panel are interchangable. thanks

Aren't the 66 and 67 two completely different trucks? that was the year of the model change. The 66 bed might work with minor modifications but I don't know what the 67 bed looked like.

the 55 2nd to 66 beds have a different configuration than earlier and later, so while you might be able to use any year bedside to build what you want, it won't be a straight bolt on deal

I believe that 57cameoguy is still has his 49 for sale. It has a 9ft bed on it. I know it's different than the 54 and that he's located in MO but it's a thought.

I know of a pair of 9' sides used on the 38-46 for sale. PM about them. You could use after market stuff for the rest I'm thinking.

I think the side stampings changed to reflect different fender shapes, but the basic bed design didn't change from 1954-1987, if memory serves.
