First post on this forum. Am the proud owner of a 1950 3100.
Purchased in CA last week.
Nice condition, decent driver. I look forward to the projects ahead. One question. Upon acceleration I hear a slight whistle coming from carburator. Have done some research and have read that this may be a vacuum leak in throttle shaft. Any input would be welcome.
Thanks,
kurtf

Hi Kurt, firstly welcome from a fellow '50 owner which, coincidentally came from Ca. but is a long way from home now.

It sounds like you're on the right track re; the whistling, but try posting this same question in the engine sub-forum,not all the engine gurus check in here.
I'm sure you'll get a better response and help to cure your problem.
Good luck.
Jock.

Willkommen, I guessing by your handle that you are German, welcome. Does this whistle happen when you drive past the pretty girls?

Hey Kurt, good luck with your new acquisition, hope you can get that fixed and on to other things.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
