Friends:
Well, like I posted recently, I got the drums off the big, red truck. Pictured here is what the driver's side looked like. This must have been the low rent district for mud wasps!! http://s1191.photobucket.com/albums/z474/LevisPop/?action=view&current=DSC_0535.jpg

Those mud wasps like anywhere out of the weather. The backside of my dash was full of mud wasp leftovers

Mud dobbers everywhere on my bus too. Must have removed 150 pounds of them...so far. They got into places I didn't even know were places!

They love oil passages in crankshafts! Always run a rifle brush through all the holes in your crank before assembling an engine. I saw a high-dollar race engine trash a rod bearing after a quick assembly job of a backup engine between weekend races. Mud wasp nest in a crank passage!

Thanks, fellas. The story continued when I disassembled a 235 this week on a cold Idaho farm and as the sun rose and warmed up everything more wasps came stumbling out of the head, bell housing, and clutch. I took the block to a machine shop and advised they put it in the oven right away! The power of nature, eh?!!
