Spent a fair bit of time straightening out my pretzels....sorry interior windshield garnish trims.
No rust as such,just lots of little dents and kinks.

I've now got them to a useable state,just need to prep and paint them.(It's too cold though!)
It's funny how the little jobs really eat up so much time!

hey snuck out to the garage for an hour this evening. finished cutting inthe reliefs for the rack and tacked them in today. also leveled out the frame on the stands. ready for a little more measuring then a little grinding so i can tack the main mustang ii cross in. thanks to the assembly manual i can get this all done with frame upside down. alot easier than right side up. i will update again hopefully soon. MO

Finally bought an impact driver so I could loosen up the door striker / latch thing and move it down. Passenger door now closes nicely and even locks. Also got a new passenger side wiper arm, so I'm ready for all weather! Think I'll get to mounting my new tires and painting my wheels this weekend! Great stuff to look forward too!

Made it outside for a bit before sundown and replaced the battery tray. Drilling out rivets is not fun.

Just got a table top grinder/wire brush...now Im on to knocking off rust on some inner front fender support rods and brackets on my 1950 chevy 3100

Finished shimming up the running boards and got the hood bolted on. Problem is, the fenders will need to be spread out about a 1/4 inch on each side.

Finaly found a pump pulley. I don't know what it's off but i can make it work. Retro fitting a 72 toyota celica heat and A/C in my 53. Getting pics together now.

FINALLY got the hood on and adjusted. I put the center strip on and will bend the tabs on it tomorrow. Also tomorrow I will plumb the transmission temp sender.

Still working on replacing rusty floors and cab corners....But the motor's in and all wired and plumbed!!

oil / oil filter change and lubed the front end... and ran out of grease in the grease gun after doing only one side... with no extra grease tube.

*sigh*.

Got my trim ring installed, now I need to put my new throttle cable on, and add the firewall grommets and hood rubber bumpers

Finished the bedsides on my 3800 (well, all but one last board on each side). I think the old girl's just about ready to haul some firewood.

Changed my fuel filter today

A while back I installed one of those clear filters, after a few hundred miles it started leaking where the end thread to the glass

too bad, i liked being able to see the particles it was picking up

finished installing the mustang ii crossmember and spring hats today. pro welder friend came over and burned it all in for me after borrowing a big miller 220v mig from another buddy of ours. had lots of help flippin the frame one way or another to get to all the areas to weld. i love cheap labor cost me a 12 pack for 2 guys for 4 hours including the welder. which is still in the garage till i dont need it anymore. been a good weekend i think i will shut it down till next week. next week i will start mocking up the suspension. later MO

Took everything off the cab of my 1948 two ton except for the glass. Getting ready for rust repair and paint when the weather gets warm. Worst places are the inner and outer cowl panels on both sides. The rest is just surface rust. Also have to fix some holes that were cut into the cab. One at the top of the window frame where it looks like someone hacked into it for an electric wiper motor, one behind the passenger seat area. Someone cut a square out of the sheet metal. Not too much work.

I'm with you Dad; I like to see when the thing gets full and needs to be replaced. Get yourself another one, you can never have too many fuel filters, especially if your gas tank might have a bit of trash in it. BTW did you use teflon tape on those threads?

No tape on the threads, just a little bit of dope.

I did see now they sell the clear filters with 1/4 and 5/16 barbs intrigrated. No need to thread fittings on the end.

But the leak was between the glass and end.
This was under cab mounted. Maybe to much vibration

Got alittle welding done to the right door pillar.
Cut away the rust.

Got the 248 to fire up today, 4 1/2 months at the motor shop and a couple of weeks gettting things hooked back up and it runs again! Lots of tweeks yet to do. Hope to get the tranny back in tonight when my kid gets home to help. Sure has been a project, glad the wife was on board for it, but she is looking forward to have her garage back. Hope to have photos in the near future of the entire ordeal, my kids got to help with that too!

I rounded up the parts and tools to install my rear brakes. Got the passenger side rear put together except for the e-brake cable. I also changed the grease seals on the axle.

Let the garage warm up a bit - then removed all 4 lever shocks. Gonna' send them to Apple for rebuild. While the truck is on jackstands, decided to put a wrench or socket on the fasteners I could get to and make sure they are snug. Fixed a small leak on fuel line. Adjusted the fan belt (got rid of the squeal), and noticed steering box is low on lube. Gonna' get some cornhead grease Saturday and top it off. Purty good day !!

started to get ready for mock up of drive train. cleaned up the junk 700r4 to hook up to the 350 4 bolt. tomorrow i will get the cherry picker out of storage and try get them bolted together and sitting between the rails.

Got a leaky steering box, so I rigged up a small suction hose using a big syringe and pulled out most of the gear oil that was left in the gearbox. Filled with cornhead grease - now we will see if that slows the leak down.

I had a leak at my thermostat housing. It has an O ring and NAPA didn't have a replacement. The ring came with with the housing and they could sell me another housing. Not an option. I guess I'll check out Mr. Gasket.

Jim I used a Summit racing stat housing,they also sell replacement 'O' ring seals ,I took the liberty of ordering a couple of spares when I bought mine.
I can't just pop down to the local FLAPS for stuff like this!
I'm planning some garage time today,so i'll measure them up for you.

I did some metal bumping and welding on the cab. Figured it would be a good place to start, since the work was behind where the seat goes.

Next I will tackle the patch I have to make for the other side where someone cut a hole in the panel. It has a compund curve in it, so I will have to get my sand bag out and try and match the contour.

Yesterday, installed rebuilt rocker arm assembly and did a initial cold valve adjustment. Changed the oil in the rear end.

This past week,i stripped the wallpaper off the hall walls,scraped the popcorn stucco off the dining room ceiling,had my brother skim coat the walls with "mud",put a primer coat on said walls,painted half the hall walls with the color my wife chose,she decides she did not like it,so,cover THAT up with primer.Today,i'm painting the dining room,and waiting for her to choose the color for the hall.What does this have to do with the bolt? Well,when i get it all done,i can go into the garage and play! dance
