Apparently there are two heater motors for a 52 3100. I just bought one from Classic parts and it is not correct. They only list one motor. (6 volt or 12 volt) After further review I see that LMC only sells one model for a 52. Lmc does list a second one for a delux heater, but those fit 55-59. Jim Carter has a little more accurate description. There's says 47-66, 12 volt, with a 1/4" shaft, for the recirculator round core housings. Then they list one for the delux fresh air model, 12 volt 5/16" shaft. So for us that don't know about these heater motors- measure the shaft diameter first, before ordering, because only one out of three of these parts companies tells you about or even offers the difference.

or better yet, take the original motor to a FLAPS and match the dimensions in whatever voltage - NAPA lists a selection

I did what Bill says for my 52,went to CJC I work part time there and left the 6 volt with one of the counter guys when I got back from one of my deliverys they already had a matching one in 12volt.I wish I had kept the end box so I'd have the # but I didn't.

I'm calling from memory right now but I think I ended up with a 12V that comes from a '66 with A/C to get the right shaft. There ia little difference but it will fit right in there.

My old heater had a shaft that stuck out each end of the motor. One end had a squirrel cage and the other end had a 4 blade fan. I ordered the Jim Carter motor, the shaft was the correct diameter, but it only came out the one end. My heater apparently came out of a late 40s Chev car, but it's all bolted in now and working. The Carter catalogue does warn about shaft diameter.
