I guess yours have been converted. I would have to think the best shocks for your truck would be the 1950 and later shocks. Presumably the mounts are in the right place, and if they are, I would not hesitate to put those 1950 and later shocks on.

If you have a 1949 with tube shocks, there are three reasons: someone converted to tube shocks from knee action shocks or you have a 1950 or newer frame and finally you don't have a 1949 at all, but a 1950 or newer. Knee action shocks were standard on 1947-1950 chevrolet trucks and 1947-1951?
