This is my first car from that era. I noticed the six lug wheels and wondered if the drivetrain would be the same or simular to the trucks of the same vintage? Obviously, it's a 3 speed torque tube set up, but what's the chances it's the same length as the trucks?
The front clip and drivetrain are getting replaced on this car so if anyone can use them let me know, I'll have them out in a few weeks. It came with a 1955 235 engine too. That's going to need to find a new home also, Scott

My 53' 216 truck engine was only about 96 HP or near that but the cars were around 112 or so and even more with the 235 and PG. Other than that I suspect that with a 3 speed tranny the drivelines were the same on the 1/2 tons trucks. However the rear ends were different and the cars had a higher gear ratio. Someone here will know for sure.
Going to offer up that old inline huh' and replace it with one of those bent motors? Shame, shame...a pox upon your toolbox! You do understand that your monthly dues here will triple and you'll need a special password to enter if you do the "V" thing, don't you? :p

There is a tech tip on this. It only applies to '46 or older 1/2 ton.

There's alot of cancer to fix and I would rather weld stuff up than restore it, if you know what I mean. This car isn't in good enough shape to spend that kind of time on. Besides, have you looked at my list of trucks, or should I say partial list? I think I've paid my dues, LOL. I got bit by the street rod bug and thought I would save one that shouldn't be over thrashing a restorable one, Scott I'll work on posting a picture soon OK, here it is
