The previous owner did an exceptional job of retrofitting a 1977 3/4 ton 4X4 Chevy chassis under it. It has a 454 block with a 427 crank and rods with forged pistons. Automatic turbo 350 tranny with RV torque convertor.
He drove it back and forth from Montana to Nevada and pulled his trailers. Its set up for fifth wheel or bumper pull.
I first saw this rig about 2 months ago on the road, and being an old Chevy nut, and thought it was one "bad" looking truck. When I saw it for sale on craigs list I had to try to get it. I'm really excited about, it all it needs is body and paint and a few minor tweeks.
I may have to keep this one for awhile.
