Due to a bad snow storm that just keeps comming, the structure built to protect my 1960 Chevy collapsed. I cannot determine the extent of damage to my truck yet. We already have 2 feet of snow and apparently another 2 to 3 feet of snow is to fall by tomorrow night. I have never seen snow this heavy. Large tree branches are breaking off everywhere, and the news is reporting that a wind storm is to hit around midnight.........Thus, a blizzard before morning.

I cannot tell you how sad I am about my truck. I hope the cab roof hasn't collapsed.

Ugh! A couple of years ago, I had a couple of those temporary garage tent things set up at my place. We had a heavy snowfall. I kept going out and hitting the roof with a broom to shake the snow off. I figured everything would be fine while I went to sleep for a few hours.....

Hopefully the damage to your truck is minimal. At least you weren't in there when the roof came down.

Oh man that sucks! I hope your truck is alright... these old beasts are solid or they wouldn't have survived as long as they have so with any luck she'll be ok...

Not sure if you remember that big dump of snow we got about 3 years ago that I think was 2-3 feet? Well in the midst of that I went out to my 2 car garage and tried to open the double door... it came up 6 inches and hit a rafter with a thunk becaue the weight on the roof was slowly collapsing it...

That was enough to get me up on the roof in a blinding snow storm shovelling it off and had to do it several times or there is no doubt in my mind my '36 and '37 that were in there at the time would have suffered the same fate!

Anyway hope for the best and we'll keep our fingers crossed for you!

It's starting to warm up now, snow is starting to melt. We have about 3 feet total. There is still too much snow on the collapsed structure to un-bury the truck. I hope most of the snow is gone by this weekend. Now the forcast is lot's of warm rain and flooding in my area......It just keeps getting better. My wife tried (against my wishes) to drive to work this morning, she high centered her SUV and ripped off her front bumper and did some other damage. (It's a Ford, ha, ha, ha....Too bad, LOL) I told her it was too deep and she would hardly make it out of the driveway, which is about where she got stuck......LOL...

That's terrible about your truck! I hope it's alright, its a nice ride!

hope everything is ok had a shelter collapse on vifes 67 nova once...had new paint at the time.....argh

Thanks guys. I haven't had time yet to dig out the truck so I still don't know the extent of the damage. It has been an extremely busy weekend. First I had to clear tree limbs and snow off the front deck so we could get out our front door. A very large tree limb fell from an old growth tree and damaged part of our roof and caused a leak in our laundry room. I had to stop the leak today and now I will have to rip out sheetrock......I bought a bulldozer yesterday and plowed snow in our driveway and down our road to the highway.

The bulldozer is an older one, you know us old truck guys, we like other old stuff as well, at least I do. It's a 1952 Oliver OC-3. It's a smaller dozer but it plowed thru the snow like a champ. I got a good buy on the tractor and the engine, transmission, and final drives have been rebuilt. I think it will look good on a trailer pulled behind my 1966 C60........

I hope your truck is okay, or at least, not too badly damaged. Sounds like like a neat dozer.
