JDBob, I'm going to leave your post here for now as your stating your location. But all offers to sell, or parts wanted should be in the swap meet.
Thanks for understanding.

Welcome to the Stovebolt T2vigil. Looks like we have a lot in common by your profile....except for the electrical part. My dad told me not to mess with anything I can't see!!

Would you be interested in the Southern Stovebolt Reunion coming up April 28th here in Boiling Springs. Its just across the highway from Spartanburg. Just two or three miles from I-26 or I-85. Just let me know and I'll add you to my Southern Stovebolters list.

Is your "short stepper" running or in the restoration stages?
(you don't HAVE to drive a truck to attend the reunion!!)

It is in the "Do what you can and still drive stage". The original 230 is really tired and uses a lot of oil. The good news is i have a slighly modified 250 and a 3 speed syncromesh ready to go in. If I can get them put in and a something other that the 411 rear end I will make some road trip, maybe late April near Spartinburg. Terry

Representing Kingston, I'm new to to these forums, but sadly no longer a 'new guy':-P

I'm piecing together a '39 Chevy 1/2 ton and would sure appreciate any local parts leads. But I sure don't mean to break the posting rules by this.

I mess around with 60's F_rd trucks and older air-cooled VW's as well.

I'm just outside Clarksville. Looks like a lot of TN folks out in the East part of the state. A get-together close to Nashville might be doable, but I don't know if I can get the wife excited about it.

I just saw this section. I am near Oak Ridge TN. Just beginning the build of my 1953 5 window 3100. Looking forward to getting it on the road.

Add another Big Bolt in Knoxville. Mine's a '48 and it's in the "we just drug it out of the field" stage. Hopefully, I'll have it back on the road this fall.

Wahoo! just found the sight, joined, and found the thread. Not feeling so lonely now. I live just outside Chattanooga. I have a 1954/3100/305/350 auto. How'd the Gabfest go and when's the next one?

RubyRed, don't know if you checked in at the Welcome Centre or not but welcome to the Stovebolt. Best site on the web.Sounds like you have an interesting truck. Same engine/tranny as my panel.
Gabfest was a good one if your talking about our Southern Stovebolt Reunion. Go to the "you should have been there" forum and read about it and see the pics....then decide for yourself.

The next one "may" be in N.C., somewhere in Ga., or maybe even Tenn. A couple bolters have stepped up and offered to host it this coming year. We did it here in S.C. the past 5 years and most of them have been last Saturday in May or the first week in June. Its a little "warm" that time of year so we had the last one in April this year. I think that works good and I THINK those offering to host it this year are also looking at April.

I'll add your name to the Southern Bolters "register" I have so you will get the emails.

....just where is Signal Mtn? There are a good number of bolters from Tennessee.

Edit: to be added to the list I'll need your email address since its not in your profile. If you like you can PM it to me or you can just watch here for upcoming events.
(email addresses are not used for anything else and I have yet to have any problems.)

Thanks for the warm welcome! Signal Mountain is on the Northern side of Chattanooga on hwy 27. Lookout Mtn (Rock City and Ruby Falls) is on the Southern side. We are just outside the city but, an island of sorts, being on top of a mountain. I will check out the picks. I look forward to the Gabfest, it would be great to crawl over a few other Stovebolts as doing things on my own I am sometimes left making do since I am working from scratch. My address is from the nickname for Chattanooga, sceniccity@yahoo.com.
