Hi,

I have a couple of 1-ton's (50 chevy 3800 dual flatbed and a 52 gmc 1 ton 253 series flatbed).

Came across a GMC '49 FC 300 series. Are the cab parts same as the 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton series? if not what are some vendors who suply parts for this series/year.
thanks

The cabs themselves are the same for all sizes of trucks. The hoods and fenders should be the same up to, I believe, 1 ton. The larger ones are different. I'm sure others will chime in here with more info.
There are many different vendors. Again, I'm sure others will weigh in on this. Otherwise, do a search of the forums for more info, as this has been discussed here many times.

GMC and Chev used the same cab for 1/2 ton up through 2 ton and everything related to the cab that is available for 1/2 ton will work for the 300. The entire front clip on 1 1/4 1/12 and 2 ton is larger to accommodate larger tires. I don't think any reproduction parts are available for the front clip. You will have to either repair any front sheet metal damage or find a parts vehicle. Larger parts vehicles only fetch scrap iron prices.

I agree with crenwelge, no problem with cab or doors, but I have found nothing for the front clip.

Thanks, makes it easy to justify getting the GMC 300 then...
