If it does mine must not be working as I see no movement with throttle changes. If you pull the cap off, you should see the center plate rotate clockwise as you apply vacuum to the advance unit. While you under the cap, give the rotor a turn to make sure the springs and weights are free. It should snap back as you turn it.

I was trying to see if the flat bar that is at the back of the vacuum advance unit moved in and out .
