I notice that there are regional forums for everyone except us upper midwesterners. How about Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa being included? Was it something we said? Just kidding John. It could be called "Upper Midwest".

Hey Weeds, I think the idea is to start one for your own region. There's not one for my area either, I may have to take the initiative.

Just like to say GREAT SITE!!! How about adding the east coast to the side lot? It would be great to have state spacific Stovebloters in conjunction with the National/International Stovbolters. Would offer more shows, more activity and more membership. I would be interested in assisting in it's development.

Why not go to the ATHS Regional Meet is in Springfield Mass this year, June 1st, 2012. Lots of guys from the East going and you have to start a group. I don't know able the midwestern area but there should be regional meets. Google them.

Take a second to read this. These forums in the Side Lot are a spring off from the GABfests and an opportunity for them to have a place to post. And, a-hem, expose themselves you might say. I know we have gotten a LOT of emails to HQ that I have forwarded to the Southern Bolters since they have good follow-up. The BC Bolters are the same.

So ... if anyone wants to get a GABFest group going in their location, check that link and get in touch with us. We are game ... but we are certainly not able to do it. Our biggest contribution to these Gabbers is making up their logo and a little guidance on what to expect for the initial GABFest. (It sometimes takes a while for these to grow.)

But they don't have to be big (Texas Connection is small and they hang loose).

That link needs to be updated a bit, too. We have the 2011 calendar of gatherings in there but we have more stories we can add.

We don't list the Kansas City Reunion as a forum since that is a collection of anyone and everyone who wants to come. If some of the gang from that area want to meet more regularly than once a year, that would be cool. Let's figure it out.

We don't want to leave anyone out. But we need someone (some-many) to pull these off. So far; so good.

Who's got what next?

grin

Oh and a note to Gary for the East Coast. So far we have the ODSS (Old Dominion Stovebolt Society -- which is just our local ya-hoos). ODSS mostly covers MD and VA. I know there are others north of us.

If there are enough around the PA area near you, get one going. I remember when we joined the BW ATHS, we all just met at a parts place in the spring. It was fun and so un-demanding! Kinda like a cruise-in.

Anybody's GABFest can be as much as the initial person wants / can get started.

Anyway. We may get a separate thread started on this so we can do some Q & A's. Give us a few days. We just had an early Christmas present (8# 8oz baby boy) delivered yesterday (to our daughter and SIL). Our house continues to have a lot of moving pieces.

Stay tuned. And stay enthused!

There was a bolter up around Madison that was organizing a get together a couple of
years back but I never heard more about it. That’s just a nice two hour drive up Rt39 for
me in Bluebelle and I sure I would have shown up for lunch. I'm sure Pete and I could
have headed up a convoy.
Because of the Stovebolt, I've been contacted by a dozen or so guys from around
Northern Illinois but it seems that's about it, just in contact once and never heard from
them again. Must be my charming personality that turns them off.
But if someone were to plan a get together within a 100 or so miles I'd make the trip, as
long as the weather was decent that is.

Lack of activity was among several reasons I sent my membership card back to VCCA
this year. I paid the dues for five or six years and got very little out of it compared to the
help I’ve gotten from the bunch here on the Bolt. And never once in all that time did I
manage to find or did I hear or did I get an email about a VCCA gathering around this
part of the country.

Guys, If you did not make it up to Fox Lake for the Gabfest, I posted another event in September in Delafield, WI. A short drive for a lot of us!!!
