In other words what do I minimally have to set up? What HAS TO be wired up? Battery, starter, gas can, igniton etc...you get my point.

You could even skip the ignition. battery cables hooked up as well. No need to have the generator installed

You can just jump from the positive post on the starter up to the coil. I often carry a length of wire with two alligator clips on it in my glove box for just this purpose. Hahaha.
